So this weekend rocked.
First, the Deepstrike paintball event was way fun. Everyone there were great sports, and we had no fights and everyone called out fairly. They gave out a lot of smaller prizes, so everyone got their money's worth. My teammate/friend Shawn won a $450 paintball gun for best sportsmanship. He was super stoked.
Second, the ride-along with UHP was awesome. Right when I got in the car, he took off like a bat out of Satan's palace. I guess he was responding to an accident on I-70 in Salina. We were crusing at 130mph on the highway and about 80mph through the towns. It was crazy stuff. The accident wasn't anything special. Some dude fell asleep and slid his Camry off the interstate. (we were told it was a rollover initially) Then we pulled a guy over for a broken headlight and a broken windshield. He only got a warning though (Sundays are kinda slow).
Then the best of the day... We pulled over a car that had too dark of windows in the front. He took the off ramp and parked by a gas pump when we got to him. The trooper got out and talked to him for a minute and then asked for his license and registration. The guy told the trooper to stand by the gas pump and he would get it, and the trooper told him what's what. The trooper opened the door and smelled a heavy scent of Marijuana. He confiscated a bag, a big blunt, and a pipe with burned weed in it.
The trooper then called for backup and they searched the trunk while he searched the front. The trunk smelled HEAVILY of marijuana so they searched in there and couldn't find anything, so they called the K-9 unit and the dog went crazy, but didn't find anything that the officers couldnt already smell. They figure the guy just got back from Colorado dropping off a shipment of marijuana. They fined the guy about $1,000 and confiscated his drugs and let him go his way.
Lastly, I took my POST test this morning. It was pretty easy for the most part. Math and I, however, are not friends. That's the only part that I worry on. I'll hopefully have my results in about 10 days. We shall see what happens.
That's about it. I had an overall great weekend.

Hotter than two rabbits makin whoopi in a wool sock
Saturday I am going to a fairly large paintball scenario event with a small group of friends called Deepstrike. This is its first year in production and is hosted by the Externus Doxa team. There are roughly 200+ people going and giving out over $3,000 in prizes. Hopefully it should be good. I'll for sure follow up with that and hopefully get some pictures.
Also, some video of Aliens in the Rockies 2008 can be found here. The guy in the red jersey is on my team, which is called Sanpete Militia as he responds.
I also got my ride-along scheduled with a trooper. I couldn't understand his name for the life of me. Oh well. I'll be riding along with him for most of the day on Sunday. I chose Sunday because of my paintball tourney Saturday, and I can only go on a weekend.
I am taking my POST test on Monday, September 29th at 8am in Gunnison.. Should be pretty long and boring, but it will be good to get it over and done with. I will receive my results approximately two weeks after I take my test. I will post how I did, as long as I didn't suck. haha.
That's about it for now. I'll update when applicable.

Changes

So, those changes I was talking about... I am, at the moment, planning on applying for the Utah Highway Patrol. I have been vigorously been working on my application, obtaining necessary documents, and scheduling tests and services needed.
From what I have been told, there is an opening coming up in the next 2-4 weeks for UHP, and I plan to be there for it. I need to take my POST (Peace Officers Standards and Training) test as soon as I can (hopefully this week) so that I can apply. Then, from what I have been told, there will be the PT (Physical Test) and Assessment Test in November/December that I will need to take. There will also be some other tests that I will need to take as well. The time frame of taking all of these tests takes about 4-6 months, unfortunately.
I have been contacting the local police agencies, and scheduled a ride-along with UHP, and waiting to find out if I can go on a ride-along with local residential officers. I spoke to the Sheriff that works at my old high school, and he said I can come down and spend the day with him and learn stuff, so I will probably be doing that as soon as I can.
That's about it in regards to UHP as of right now. More to come. I'll for sure post the ride-along experience, at the very least.

Killer Bunnies and the quest for the magic carrot.
So, there is this great card game called Killer Bunnies. Basically, you try to kill your friends' bunnies while trying to get as many carrots as you can. It's a very humorous game indeed. You get weapons like a deadly whisk, suction cup gun, and a Cyber Bunny to kill your opponents bunnies with. If you don't have a great sense of humor, don't play the game. It's not meant for you seriously boring people.
My roommate Tim bought this game, after I have been meaning to buy it for a long time, but the game has been out of print. Since he has bought it, we've been playing non-stop. It has like 300 booster packs for it, all with new humorous weapons and items. We plan on owning all of the booster packs, so that our murderous bunny rampages can be done with class.
I have made some new decisions in my life career-wise, and I am actively working on making those changes. It will be the hardest work I have ever done, but I want it badly enough, that I think I can do it.
I'll post more on that later, when I get a lot more information hopefully tomorrow.

Thar be Aliens in them thar Rockies!
So, I went to Aliens in the Rockies this weekend. It kicked so much mother-loving butt that I just can't contain it. Sanpete Militia (team I'm in) took Most Valuable Mercenary Team for 2008 out of 400 people. Yes, 400 people were there paintballing. It was awesome.
First there was a night game that went from about 8pm-10:30pm. There are a total of two main teams which are the Red Team (Marines) and Blue Team (Mercenaries). I was on the Blue team. During the night game, each teams were defined by red or blue glow sticks.
The night game was really fun. There were people with HUGE spotlights that were spotters. As regular militia, you are trying to capture flags and eliminate the other team. When a spotlight would go across our path, we would all have to dive down into the tall weeds so that we weren't seen. It was so intense. I loved it.
Then we played Paintball ALLLLLL DAY Saturday. There are so many things to explain that I won't list them all. I will just focus on the main special character: Predators.
Predators wear full blown ghille suits, which is like a suit that goes over your body that mimics vegetation so that you look like you're a tree. Predators kill either teams, and are very hard to kill. My friend Shawn and his twin brother Shane had an intense encounter with a Predator.
Shawn was kneeling down in a heavily wooded area shooting at the Marines. After about 5-7 minutes, he looked down, and saw a knee 5 feet (not an exaggeration) from him, as well as a camoflauged gun. Shawn asked "Dude, are you red or blue?" and the Predator identified himself. The Predator did not kill him because he was too close to shoot, and there was a brance between them so he couldn't tap him with his barrel. To this day, Shawn is still freaked the hell out by how close that Predator was and did not see him for so long.
Its that type of element that made me love Aliens in the Rockies 2008 and I can't wait for next year. There was so much more but I just can't go through it all. They gave out tons and tons of prizes which was awesome. Our team won Most Valuable Team, which is pretty much the best thing to win at an event like this. We were awarded a trophy and all of us were given medals which is shown below.
I haven't had as much fun paintballing as I did this past weekend. For more information about Aliens, check out www.paradoxgames.com

Comments are freaking welcome, people.

Could I BE any busier right now?
Yay, rant time.... So, not too long ago, school started. I have been working at my job for nearly two years now. When school approached, I set my classes up. I was working full time, coming in at 8am, working til about 9:30am or 10:30am, depending on the day.
I would then go to my classes for anywhere from 2-3 hours, come back to work around 12:30-1pm, and stay at work until 7pm. Full time work, full time school. That wasn't too bad.. but my boss(es) decided to change that on me three weeks into the semester after my schedule had already been approved.
Yeah, well, that's taken a jacknife turn in the other direction, that's for sure. They just changed my schedule to 7am-9am, then school from 9am-2pm, then I work from 2pm-8pm.... EVERY. DAY.
So I'm pretty much working/attending classes from 7am-8pm. Isn't that just AWESOME? I mean, its not a HUGE change from my previous schedule, but I have like an hour between work and class that is JUST enough time to do NOTHING. Nothing productive, anyway. Because of this, I have to get up an hour earlier, and stay at work an hour LATER. I'm taking it from both ends.
So to say the least, I am not happy. If I want a decent nights sleep, I would go to bed about 11-12. That's THREE hours to do ANYTHING.
*guntohead*
Sigh. Anyway, I still have a thrashed/nearly unlivable apartment. No TV, no lights, no kitchen, no bedroom.
On a happier note, ALIENS IN THE ROCKIES IS THIS WEEKEND!!! If you don't know what it is, google it.
Aw hell, I'll just tell you, cause I know you losers won't google it. It's a large paintballing event in Logan, UT. It costs about 100 bucks to go. That's just for entry and a case of paint. Woo. Its going to be thebomb.com though. 400+ people shooting the hell out of each other for mission objectives and prizes? I'm there.
Should be way fun. I'll for sure post a blog on that.
I think that's enough BS ranting for now.

blogsawce
So, I decided to make one of these here blogspots. Why? I have no clue. Just decided to. Will I post on it frequently? Probably not. Will I try to? Sure. Some interesting things have been happening to me lately....
Big thing lately: My apartment got flooded. Yes, flooded. With water. That's not some slang term for "Dood we were flooded wif phat chix all night at our wicked kegger last nite". A dishwasher hose upstairs burst off of the water line, and flooded the crawl space and ran down to my apartment downstairs. I walked into a soaking wet apartment, with water running from my ceiling fans and light fixtures. My smoke alarm was wailing and screaming.... until she finally couldn't take much more, and finally died, with a scream that mocks a dying calf with down-syndrome.
There are some other things that have happened lately, but not worthy enough to backtrack and post. At the moment, my apartment is still a wreck. Its all dry, but I have no lights, barely a ceiling and no room to do anything. I will try to pots some pictures up when I can.
That is all.
